Though she embraces her American life—which carries advantages ranging from having a closet of her own to getting a formal education and enjoying The Brady Bunch —she can never truly leave her Cambodian life behind. View Full Version of PW. Despite the lack of action, but very interesting plot structure, and point of views, I would definitely recommend this book to many of my friends that enjoys reading. Loung’s story represents a relatively common lucky child loung ung story, though with the added difficulties of growing up as a Cambodian refugee in the US, of course; but, Chou’s story was obviously something I could not relate with and continued to be an interesting, new aspect for Loung Ung’s books.
Ung’s lucky child loung ung gives a vital insight into the struggle of those brave surviv Ung relates the experiences of herself and her family as they find their way in Vermont, after being sponsored to a new life following the fall of the Khmer Rouge.
I gave this book 3 stars because it does leave some holes in the story. Want to Read Currently Reading Read.
